Developed by Hypercent Inc., OrePlant has been launched on Steam

OrePlant is a cozy idle game built around mineral cultivation in early access.

Korea South, 7th Jan 2026 – On December 17, OrePlant, a cozy idle simulation game developed by Hypercent Inc., launched in Early Access on Steam. Prior to its release, the title drew quiet attention through word-of-mouth for its distinctive visual style and its unusual core concept of “growing minerals like plants.”

Following hands-on play during its Early Access period, OrePlant presents itself as more than a passive idle experience. The game blends decoration, collection, and light automation mechanics, positioning it as a relaxing alternative for players seeking a slower-paced experience.

A Distinct Gameplay Concept

In OrePlant, players follow the protagonist Finn and his companion Aria as they cultivate a fantasy world centered around the World Tree. A defining mechanic is “mineral cultivation,” where resources such as copper, gold, and silver are planted and harvested similarly to crops.

Gameplay begins with manual interaction, but gradually introduces automation through small robotic helpers. These elements shift the experience toward a gentle factory-style simulation, while maintaining a calm, visually soothing pace.

Observing the automated systems at work is designed to be part of the experience itself, encouraging a relaxed, low-pressure style of play rather than fast-paced progression.

Cozy Design and Character-Focused Elements

The game emphasizes its cozy identity through visual design and character-driven activities.

One notable feature is the fishing system, where players encounter Dambi, an otter companion. This activity is designed to be ambient and low-stress, functioning as a side activity rather than a core progression mechanic.

Cooking is another key feature. Players can prepare dishes using harvested crops and fish, with Aria handling the cooking process. These dishes provide in-game buffs and contribute to progression, while also reinforcing the game’s handcrafted aesthetic.

Customization also plays a significant role. Players can purchase buildings, decorate their environment, and personalize their game screen. While the game includes efficiency systems, visual expression is encouraged through flexible decorative options.

The fishing spot can also be expanded infinitely. Dambi seems to be away for a moment because he’s busy.

Early Access With a Defined Foundation

As an Early Access release, OrePlant establishes a clear gameplay framework. The game includes a narrative goal centered on restoring the World Tree, providing context and direction beyond resource collection.

Additional mechanics such as artifact collection and randomized reward systems support longer-term engagement. Players familiar with relaxed simulation or life-style games may recognize similarities in pacing and structure, though OrePlant maintains its own thematic identity.

A Relaxed Idle Experience

OrePlant is designed to accommodate both passive and active play styles. Progress continues while the game runs in the background, while hands-on interaction offers additional rewards. This balance allows players to engage at their own pace.

As development continues, Hypercent Inc. has indicated that additional content will be shaped through user feedback during the Early Access phase.
